Horsey Baby Clothes = Irresistible

Buying cute baby clothes is very enjoyable for many people, family and friends alike.  Buying horse-themed baby clothes for a horse-enthusiast Mama and her little one is even more so.  Several family members and friends have spontaneously purchased cute horse-attire for our little Sweet Pea and I am so glad they did.  I am no exception and also failed to resist temptation at a recent baby clothes sale.  I am new to baby clothes, and everything "baby" really, but apparently you can buy the same or similar outfits in larger sizes so that your little one need not grow out her latest horse-themed onesie until she is 24 months old.

Thank goodness.

Thank you for the present Auntie M!

I may have purchased multiple similar horsey-outfits during a recent school-shopping outing.  Truth be told, I don't regret it.

And I am NOT one of those who likes shopping.  I think that I would be in trouble, if I were.

I have a growing collection, so expect to see some cute horse outfits modeled by Sweet Pea!  I have to dress her up before she grows out of them.  :)

Matching leggings!  (OMG, I sound so much like a "girl".  What has happened to me?)

I have an Ariat shirt on, too.

On the actual horsey front, Harley and I are still having fun together with our short rides.  He hasn't forgotten a thing and although both our fitness levels are not there yet (sitting trot feels like "work" these days), he still offers up his usual goodies like shoulder-in without a hitch, a big, explosive trot down the long side, smooth, smooth canter, and a flying change when I am not paying attention.  Silly boy.  I love every minute!

  1. Adorable! I love it! I'm not having any more, so I have to get my baby fix from other people's kids.

And, enjoy it while it lasts! My daughter has had her own sense of style since she was three and doesn't let me pick her clothes anymore. I love how individual and independent she is, but her clothing choices are somewhere between Cyndi Laupner and Lady Gaga! That's the problem with raising these tough, opinionated horse girls! (And I wouldn't have it any other way!)

  3. Yeah, I'm not a "girly girl" by any means, however, when we took in my niece when she sadly went into foster care-she's almost a year old-I suddenly felt a need to buy thousands of bows and horsey items for her... :))

  5. As the mom of two boys I am always bummed that they pretty much only sell cute horsey stuff for girls:( I once found an outfit with horses and cowboys stuff all over it but I don't think I i even put it on my son once before it was too small for him.

    1. I am sorry about that. You are most certainly right.

I tend to put her in my favorites over and over again and then she ends up not wearing other outfits at all. Oops.

  6. Laughing at your "OMG I sound so much like a girl!" The same thing happened me all those years ago when I had my kids. I was an out-n-out tomboy, but I love ddressing up my girls!

    1. I hear you. I really did shock myself. I used to be anti-pink, too, but now I find myself picking out pink clothes. Coral is my favorite version of pink, though.

I still dislike princess stuff. Not my cup of tea at all!

  7. Oh my! Those socks are adorable!! The whole outfit is, of course. She is so darn cute! Motherhood seems to be agreeing with you in every sense of the word. I am happy you are still getting some alone time with the big guy too!

I hope the new school year goes smoothly for you too, there is a lot on your plate. I know Dad is sharing with all of that, as he should... :)

    1. The school year is just a few days away. I have no idea how I am going to make it all work! A coordinated effort is definitely necessary, but the task is still daunting.

    1. I noticed that the boy's section did not have horse stuff. What a disservice! I guess if I liked sports I might be disappointed that all that stuff is for boys.

I love my Harley-time. Until I begin work, it is literally my only time away from little one.

  10. That little girl of yours is seriously cute Val! And the outfits put her over the top. Are you sure there aren't some te-tiny little barn boots that those cute stripey leggings can peek out over?!

Glad you're getting some Harley time in too. :D

  11. Number one reason I want a little cowgirl or cowboy... I hate shopping for myself but if I can by little country kid outfits with the little work boots... I'm going to be in big trouble! Glad you and Harley are still having fun! That's what he's there for :) Mommy and Harley time.

    1. Shopping for baby is mountains more fun than shopping for myself. I hate trying on clothes and looking for sizes. Serious time killer when I would rather be riding or cooing at Sweet Pea!

  13. I love finding cowboy or horse inspired clothes for my son. A little GIRL would be super fun! Try consignment places (if you have them in your area) more shopping, less guilt for often perfectly new stuff! And she's adorable btw :)

  14. I grew up on a horse and passed on the love to my children. They each love to ride and have Quarter Horses. When they were younger I also loved to splurge on horse inspired or even cow inspired clothing. Now they are 11 and 13 and have their own style. Our Jazzy has a country style while Hiredman goes from wranglers to shorts and a t-shirt. Your baby is so cute and I love the pink horse!
